A small sample of the creatures that inhabit the world of Grail. All of these are based on folklore creatures of British, Welsh, French, German, Scottish, and Irish mythology. I mostly tried to steer away from Greek mythology in favor of more obscure Western European creatures. I loved the idea of taking fantastical creatures and somewhat grounding them in at least a tiny bit of reality. For instance, instead of being analogous to humans, my version of trolls and hobgoblins are more akin to primates. Faeries, instead of being tiny people with wings, are more moth-like insects. It was a ton of fun doing research on both real animals and fictional folklore beasts.
